School Supplies

SUPPLY LIST - KINDERGARTEN

Below is a list of things your kindergarten student will need to bring as close to the first day of school as possible:

Inside/Gym shoes with good grip

            - these will stay at the school all the time

            - please only send tie up shoes if your child has mastered shoe tying

1 Backpack

They will also need a lunch kit/bag of some kind (kindergarten has 2 snacks and lunch throughout the day, so you can pick a good size based on that).

Optional: Water bottle that they can keep on their desk.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in kindergarten!

SUPPLY LIST-GRADE ONE

Dear Families,

Here is a list of supplies your child will need for grade one in the fall:

PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD’S NAME OR INITIALS ON EACH ITEM SO THAT IF THEY ARE MISPLACED OR DROPPED ON THE FLOOR THEY CAN BE IDENTIFIED AND RETURNED

-     1 school bag for transporting materials to and from school

-     1 2 inch binder with 5 dividers. Please label the dividers for Math, Language, Social Studies, Science, Other assignments.

-     4 interlined Hilroy scribblers with broken lines

(2 of these should be half lined and half blank – no wire spirals please)

-     1 centimeter ruler (30 cm long)

-     1 primary pencil (thick one)

-     6 HB pencils (sharpened)

-     6 functional erasers (the decorator kind don’t erase well)

-     1 white glue (liquid kind)

-     3-4 glue sticks

-     1 pair of scissors of good cutting quality

-     4 empty duotangs

-     3 pocket folders

-     1 Blue Hilroy Studio scrapbook (11X14 inch) with coil binding (the others fall apart)

-     1 set ear buds or head phones in labeled zip lock bag

-       2 sets wax crayons (1 for the fall, 1 for later)

-       1 set of presharpened pencil crayons for after Christmas

-       NO FELT MARKERS PLEASE

-       1 pencil case or pencil box that will hold the crayons

-       1 pencil sharpener with holder for shavings

-       1 box of Kleenex tissue

-     Ed. or indoor shoes with good grip for gym (*please do not send tie-ups if your child has        not mastered independent shoe lace tying. It is frustrating for your child, when shoe              exchange should be quick and easy.)

Please send all supplies (that will fit) in a labeled shoe box on our first day so we can organize and put things in their place on the first days.  I will store your child's extra supplies and hand them out as needed.  Thank-you and have a great summer!

 Sincerely,

Mrs. Christine Kobza

GRADE 4 SUPPLY LIST

Grade 4 Supply List

(2019-2020)

• 3 large white erasers

• 3 large glue sticks

• 2 packages of lined paper

• 1 set pencil crayons

• 1 ruler (flexible is best)

• 1 pair 6” scissors

• 1 pencil box - (large enough to fit your pencil-crayons, pencil, eraser, 1 glue-stick and scissors)

• 10 duo-tangs – solid colors only please – each color will be assigned to a specific subject. I may exchange these folders so that I can reduce transition time by saying “take out your yellow writing folder” etc. So please do not label your folders. I will ensure your child gets what color they need.

• 2 pocket folders – cardstock (not plastic)

• 1 pair of headphones (to stay at school) - Larger headphones are the best. Small ear-buds tend to get lost or taken home in pockets, but they are acceptable.

• 10-20 quality wood pencils. - Not all pencils are created equal. Many pencils do not have the graphite centered properly and break easily. I like Staedtler wooden pencils. (Staedtler blue wooden pencils usually show up at Costco in August for cheap (less than $10 for 50 (bulk) and include eraser caps and a pencil sharpener. These are excellent pencils!)

Please label all supplies with your child’s name or initials except the duo-tangs and pocket folders. Your child may already have many of the items on the list. Do not hesitate to send supplies from past years.

Thank you!

Mr. Nelson
